Our Italy Adventures: Venice, Day One

Image
Since I’ve reached 40, I’ve tried to make it a point to travel somewhere each year. So far, I have been to Iceland, Hawaii, Canon Beach, New Mexico, Paris (twice), and now Italy in 2023.   I write this post, 3 months after my trip. I’ve had a chance to reflect on my experiences. I used to dream of Paris every day before I had a chance to visit. Even my home is Paris inspired. However, I never thought I’d fall more in love with Italy as much as I did recently.   After watching a few discovery shows, I’ve been fascinated with world history. Much emphasis on the Ancient Roman History, with the emperors, their form of government and lifestyle. So after seeing where it all began, it gave me chills….but let’s start from the beginning.   It was March 11 th , Thursday. Our flight was to leave at around 5pm. The goal was to get to the airport early to have sufficient time to check in our bags. I had a few things to take care of before leaving for the airport. I needed ...

Living The Parisian Dream Part II

I wanted to take a reprieve from story telling to actually share the images from the trip, which was the purpose of it all to begin with. Michelle and I did a 2 day shoot. Day one was at the Homme Museum, which was the popular spot for tourists and even locals to take pictures at. We started a little late on day one. We thought we could get up at 5:30 am to try to reach sunrise at the Homme Museum. But it was just impossible. Our bodies just couldn't handle it, especially with only 5 to 6 hours sleep since we got there. Remember we were up for a good 36 hours the day before? Anyway, there were a lot of people when we arrived. Hannah wore a grey and sliver fitted gown with feather trim for the sleeves. It was a shame we arrived late, the place was busy! I wasn't sure how I was going to edit all the people out, which is why this set took me the longest t...

Living The Parisian Dream

Image
We all have dreams. Whether they are big or small, they are our dreams. Call it a bucket list, if you may. Sometimes it takes a long time to scratch off just one item from that list, for others, not so much. But nevertheless, scratching off something makes us feel accomplished, in some little (or big) way. Doing a shoot in Paris, was definitely a small dream all three of us had.   I am fortunate to have met people over the years that I share things in common with. Michelle and I have shared a photography friendship for 10 years now, and just recently, about a year ago, we met Hannah, a beautiful young model, starting out her career in the industry. We all share something in common: we love to travel, and we love fashion and art. So when I proposed to travel to Paris, France for a fashion shoot, we were all excited, and not one of us hesitated - we were all in!   My job was to create a statement. It wasn't hard for me at all, I mean Paris was my favorite city in ...
